Keneseth Israel, 2227 W. Chew St., will hold a 24 Hours of Prayers for Peace service from 9 a.m. today to 9 a.m. Tuesday. Prayers for peace in the Middle East will be said every hour on the hour.

ISF, MND-B Soldiers discover weapons cache, unexploded ordnance, military gear, confiscate weapons
BAGHDAD – Iraqi Security Forces partnered with Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers discovered three weapons caches and unexploded ordnance, and confiscated weapons Jan. 18 in Baghdad’s the Rashid district of southern Baghdad.

The U.S. Airways jet which made a dramatic crash-landing in the Hudson River in New York has been recovered from the bottom of the river bed. A giant crane hoisted the plane onto a barge late on Saturday afternoon, three days after hero pilot Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger made a split-second decision to attempt a water landing to avoid a possibly catastrophic crash over populated areas.

Superintendent warns against 'inappropriate comments'
Mason school officials said they are taking a proactive educational approach in advance of next week's planned Inauguration Day activities. Inappropriate comments that may make other students, staff or families feel unwelcome or uncomfortable in school or on the bus will not be tolerated," Superintendent Kevin Bright said in an e-mail sent to parents Monday, Jan. 12.
