was posted. The chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission,
Zia Ahmed, said "The government can take any decision to stop any activity
that threatens national unity and integrity," he said.

Afghanistan's Supreme Court has upheld a closed-door ruling of a 20-year jail
term for blasphemy handed to Afghan journalist Sayed Parwez Kambakhsh, who claimed
men and women were equal. He had written, "extremist mullahs had distorted
the true meaning of Islam's Koran” and "If a Muslim man may have
four wives, why shouldn't a wife have four husbands."North

The U.S. Army War College has suspended Sherifa Zuhur because she threatened
to file a grievance with the Middle East Studies Association and run to the
newspapers with allegations that the U.S. Army War College was violating her
academic freedom. She plans to file a lawsuit on the grounds of academic freedom
and discrimination. The contretemps began with her publishing a report claiming
that Jewish control of the media has misrepresented and demonized Hamas. (Thanks

Italian Muslim immigrants ignore the anti-female mutilation law. Muslims have
put at least 600 children are at risk of infibulation, the most extreme form
of female genital mutilation, according to conservative MP and president of
Italy's Association of Moroccan Women, Souad Sbai even after approval of the
2006 Consolo law, enacted to prevent and prohibit female genital mutilation.

Vienna, Austria

An Islamic religion teacher in Vienna, Austria is terminated for admitting he
teaches racism and intolerance to the protests of the Muslim Teachers Association.


A study by Mouhanad Khorchide, a professor of the sociology of religion at
the Islamic Religion and Pedagogical Institute at Vienna University shows Muslim
teachers in Austria have largely anti-democratic beliefs and one in five is
"fanatical".

compensation for injuries caused by military operations.
