The Continual Erosion of Free Speech

Recently, Salman Rushdie did not attend a literature festival in India after Indian authorities warned him he was a potential target of assassins, and after numerous protests by various Islamist groups. Unfortunately, the Rushdie example is all too representative of how things are going in the Western struggle to protect speech from Islamist thugs. In other words, not well. Things are probably getting worse.

The Blood Price of Afghanistan

How about the Fort Hood incident and Nidal Hasan? Didn't the administration state that it was workplace violence? But no slack for an American soldier ‘going over the edge”. Not excusable but understandable on his fourth deployment. Another slap in the face of the American citizens and especially our military.

IMPORTANT EVENT

Monday, March 19, 2012

In Ottawa, The Free Film Thinking Society will be having an evening at 7:00 p.m. with Vivian Krause. Details follow.

Please join us for an evening with Vivian Krause!

Environmental detective Vivian Krause will be presenting on the funding of environmental groups in Canada.

March 19, 2012, 7 PM
Library & Archives Canada
395 Wellington
Ottawa, Ontario
Admission: $15 (students $10)

From Vivian's blog: Rethinking Campaigns

"According to my preliminary calculations, since 2000 USA foundations have poured at least $300 million into the environmental movement in Canada. Its time to ask why. The David Suzuki Foundation alone has been paid at least $10 million by American foundations over the past decade. Why are American foundations spending so much money in Canada instead of in their own country or in other countries around the world that are far more needy than Canada?"
