Rex Murphy: It’s not Islamophobia to call a jihadist, a jihadist

The recent slaughter of four French Jews, including two small children, has, in part, been met with calls for people to not paint all Islam with responsibility for the shooting — an uncontentious urging. It is not Islamophobic to note the motives and background of the murderer. In fact, it is a form of cowardice and evasion not to do so.

Canada: Muslim Book Sanctions Wife-Beating

A book discovered in a Toronto Islamic bookstore is causing an Internet uproar: A Gift for the Muslim Couple by the Islamic scholar Hazrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi advises Muslim men that “it might be necessary to restrain” their wives “with strength or even to threaten” them. Sheikh Syed Mahmud Allusi in his Qur’anic commentary Ruhul Ma’ani gives four reasons that a man may beat his wife: “if she refuses to beautify herself for him,” if she refuses sex when he asks for it, if she refuses to pray or perform ritual ablutions, and “if she goes out of the house without a valid excuse.”

Kenney: Immigrant credentials should be checked before entering Canada

OTTAWA – Immigration Minister Jason Kenney is proposing rule changes that would assess and verify the education credentials of some immigrants even before they arrive in Canada. The new requirement would mean that applicants seeking to come in under the federal skilled workers program would have a sense before they arrive whether they’ll be able to get work in their field.

Europe's Islamic Future Has Arrived

"Jews should not emigrate; anti-Semitic Moroccans should."

In country after European country, the post-modern charade of the bliss of multiculturalism - the idea that all cultures are equal and can coexist peacefully side-by-side in any given country, and that Muslim immigrants should be allowed to keep their cultural traditions rather than integrate into wider European society - is unravelling.
