Dror Hanin

Dror Hanin was the latest Israeli victim of Palestinian terrorism, killed by rocket fire on Tuesday, July 15. He was a volunteer, handing out food and gifts made by children to IDF soldiers, a 38 year-old who had three children. A volunteer firefighter, Hanin is remembered by all who knew him as kind and generous, always wanting to help his fellow man.

While Hanin is the first and hopefully the last Israeli casualty during Operation Protective Edge, he joins a long list of Israeli fatalities due to Arab terrorism.

On June 30, the bodies of Eyal Yifrah, 19; Gilad Sha’ar, 16; and Naftali Frenkel, also 16, were found after nearly a three week search. They had been kidnapped and murdered by Arab terrorists.
On May 2, 19 or 20 year-old Shelly Dadon (the age varies depending on the source) was found stabbed to death, murdered by a taxi driver who later confessed, the motive “nationalistic”. In other words, Arab terrorism. She was on her way to a job interview.

On April 14, Baruch Mizrahi, 47, was shot to death while driving in his car on the way to a Passover Seder with his family. He was a police chief whose wife was also wounded in the attack. One of the terrorists arrested for the murder happens to be one of the 1027 prisoners released in exchange for Gilad Shalit. Incidentally, dozens more of those released in that deal have been rearrested.

In 2013, seven people were the victims of Palestinian terrorism, people killed for “nationalistic” reasons: Salah Shukri Abu Latyef, 21, Shlomi Cohen, 31, and Gavriel Kobi, 20, all killed by snipers on separate occasions; Eden Atias, 18, stabbed in the neck on a bus; Seraya Ofer, 61, bludgeoned to death with iron bars and axes; Evyatar Borovsky, 31, stabbed to death; and Tomer Hazan, 20, murdered by an Arab he used to work with at a restaurant. Hazan had been friendly with his attacker and trusted him enough to get into a car with him.

In 2012, there were eight victims, five of whom were the victims of rocket attacks, all killed by Palestinian terrorists. They were: Lt. Boris Yarmulnik, 28; Cpl. Yosef Fartuk, 18; Alayaan Salem al-Nabari, an Israeli Bedouin; Mirah Scharf, 25; Aharon Smadga, 40; Yitzhak Amselam, 22; Cpl Netanel Yahalomi, 20; Said Pashpasha, 36; and Staff-Sgt Netanel Moshiashvili, 21.

The year 2011 is particularly heartbreaking. It is the year when five members of the Fogel family (Udi Fogel, 36; Ruth Fogel, 35; Yoav, 11; Elad, 4; and Hadas, 3 months) were murdered in their beds. The parents and three of their children were stabbed to death, including the 3 month-old baby, who was reportedly decapitated in her crib.

The 12 year-old daughter came home late and found her family slaughtered. The neighbor, who accompanied the girl into the house when she asked for help, said that one of the children who was not killed, a 2 year-old son, was sitting next to his parents, crying and shaking them in the attempt to wake them up.

Who were the perpetrators of such a heinous crime? Palestinian terrorists again.

Another small child was killed that year, one year-old Yonatan Palmer, along with his father, Asher, 25, when Palestinians threw rocks at the Palmer’s car, resulting in an accident and proving that rocks can kill.

Ben-Yosef Livnat, 24, was killed by a Palestinian police officer while visiting Joseph’s Tomb.
Daniel Viflic, 16, was killed after Hamas terrorists fired a missile at a school bus. Luckily he was the only child left on the bus at the time.

The other victims of Arab terrorism that year include: Moshe Ami, 56;  Eliyahu Naim, 79; Yossi Shoshan, 38; Flora Gaz, 52; Moshe Gaz, 53; Shula Karlinsky, 54; Dov Karlinsky, 58; Yosef Levi, 58; Yitzhak Sela, 56; St-Sgt Moshe Naftali, 22; Chief Wrnt Officer Pascal Avrahami, 49; and Mary Jean Gardner, 55, a British tourist studying at Hebrew University.

Altogether there have been over 3700 fatalities resulting from Arab terrorism in Israel since 1920, mostly Jews murdered by Arabs for “nationalistic” reasons. (Though somehow the “nationalistic” Arab murderers are always Muslim, not Christian.) Those fatalities are accompanied by a far higher number of wounded.

Those who call Palestinian terrorists “freedom fighters”, victimizing them and simultaneously demonizing Israelis are in effect supporting terrorism against Jews. The same goes for the media which has an all too obvious bias. Something is seriously wrong with a world that supports evil.
These victims must be remembered: Dror Hanin; the boys, Eyal Yifrah, Gilad Sha’ar and Naftali Frenkel; Shelly Dadon; Baruch Mizrahi and all the victims from past years. Enough with the Pallywood lies, the fake photos of Gazan children who are actually Syrian, along with other false propaganda meant to muster sympathy for the aggressors.

Jews have been murdered by Arab terrorists for decades and long before the modern State of Israel came to be. That is the reality of the situation.

(Much of the data on the victims was compiled from the Jewish Virtual Library.)
