Big Media Ignores Hamas's "Ugliest Crimes"

by Khaled Abu Toameh  •  September 3, 2014 at 5:00 am
Armed Hamas militias committed the ugliest crimes. It was the Palestinians who made this charge.
Hamas militiamen confiscated food and medicine sent to the Gaza Strip from the West Bank and some "friendly countries," the Fatah leaders disclosed. "Hamas distributed some of the aid among their men through the mosques or sold it on the black market," they said.
It is hard to believe that the journalists did not hear about the Hamas crimes. But it is still not clear why journalists and human rights advocates continue to ignore the story. Is it because such stories are lacking an anti-Israel angle?

During the recent war in the Gaza Strip, armed Hamas militias committed the ugliest crimes and violations.
This charge did was not made by the Israeli Government Press Office or the Israel Defense Forces spokesman.
Rather, it was Palestinians who made this charge – and not just ordinary ones.
Leaders of the ruling Fatah faction in the West Bank made the charge against Hamas in a strongly worded statement that was issued in Ramallah on August 30.
The statement refers to Hamas's crackdown on dozens of Fatah members in the Gaza war during Operation Protective Edge – the name used by the IDF to describe the war with the Islamist movement.
The Fatah leaders – members of the faction's Central Committee, a body dominated by supporters of Palestinian Authority [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas – accused Hamas militiamen of shooting dozens of their activists in the Gaza Strip in the legs and other parts of the body.

"Dangerous Laws"

by Douglas Murray  •  September 3, 2014 at 4:00 am
It has become increasingly plain that there are areas of our country in which different rules apply. Here are places where religion and ethnicity and the fear of accusations of "racism" and Islamophobia" trump everything -- including women's rights and, and it is now clear, even children's rights.
The underlying problem has barely been touched. Everybody forgot that the idea of protecting everyone by the same rules is the only standard that should apply. "One law for all" is not a "dangerous" idea. It is the only system that makes it possible to protect everyone, whatever his race or religion.
In the English town of Rotherham (population ca. 258,000), at least 1,400 children were sexually abused by a gang of Muslim men of Pakistani descent. (Image source: Wikimedia Commons)
It is more than six years since the then Archbishop of Canterbury gave what history will surely understand to be one of the most destructive speeches in modern Britain. The contents of Rowan Williams's 2008 speech talked of allowing a place for competing religious demands, including sharia law, in a multi-faith society. The next day he clarified matters. In an interview with the BBC, he said there would "inevitably" be a place for sharia law in Britain and that (more importantly) the idea of there being "one law for all" in a country such as Britain seemed to him "dangerous."

UK: Iran Looking to Recruit British Shi'ite Jihadists

by Samuel Westrop  •  September 3, 2014 at 3:00 am
The horrors perpetrated by ISIS, captured on camera and propagated through social media, are distracting the West from the threat posed by the Iran and its proxies. Iran's attempts to woo British Shi'ites should not be dismissed, but monitored and fought.
Whom shall British Shi'ites heed? Iraqi Shi'ite cleric Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani (left) has called on Iraqi Shi'ites to take up arms against Sunni jihadists, while Iranian Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi (right) has called on Shi'ites around the world to form armed forces in Iraq.
Officials of the Iranian regime's network of groups in Britain have called upon British Shi'ites to join the jihad against Sunni Islamist forces in Iraq.
The Ahlul Bayt Islamic Mission [AIM], one of the most prominent Shi'ite organizations in Britain, has published on its website an "Urgent Call," which states:
"We must be ready to sacrifice, leave everything behind us and run for the defense of truth and its supporters, representatives, and relics. The Jihad ul Asghar (minor jihad) must also be accompanied by Jihad ul Akbar (bigger jihad) so that we prepare ourselves spiritually and deserve the honor of defending Islam. Every man must be ready to join the armed forces and every woman must urge the male members of her family to go seek this noble cause and do anything she can to serve this cause … May Allah (SWT) enable us to put our words into actions and to defend Islam and its principles till our last breathe and drop of blood!"
