From wife-beating websites to young women joining ISIS: Muslim extremism in Canada today

Marc Tanguay, a Quebec Liberal MNA, is in trouble for advertising on a Muslim community centre website that promotes violence against women.

I talk about this with Marc Lebuis of Pointdebascule.ca. He's an investigative blogger and expert on radical Islam in Canada.

He tells me that this isn't the first time Tanguay has been criticized for appearing to sympathize with controversial Muslim practices, such as the wearing of the burqa.

Lebuis also talked to me about Adil Charkaoui, who was arrested by the Canadian government in 2003 under a security certificate that was later quashed by a court. Reportedly, some of his former students, including young women, may have left Canada and joined the Islamic State or Al Qaida.
