With a Media Like This, The West Can't Win

The influence of the main stream media(MSM) on public opinion cannot be underestimated. In most cases, public opinions are mere reflections of what the public read in the papers, hear on the radio or see on television. The professionalism of the Western media made it a towering institution of journalism and earned it a reputation second to none. It was its impartiality in reporting and its uncompromising pursuit of the truth that built the solid foundations for Western democracy.

Regrettably, this is not the case anymore; something happened to the progressive West that prompted the gears to turn backwards towards the dark ages, and not many people notice it. Unfortunately the Western MSM is no more the honest and impartial voice it once was, and it happened at a time when honesty and impartiality are most needed.

When the murder of British soldier Lee Rigby was reported in May 2013, the headlines, for many hours, avoided any indication that the murder was connected to Islam or Muslims. On the other hand, after the Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris, the headlines highlighted how a Muslim helped a couple to hide in a kosher shop. The media, that always demands not to paint all the Muslims with the same brush, suddenly has no hesitation to paint them all with the same brush as that individual because he happened to be nice. It certainly looks as if the media continuously search for opportunities to project Islam in a good light, and Muslims as innocent or even victims. We are too familiar with the predictable pattern after terrorist attacks when the media highlights the risk of possible backlashes on Muslims; the risk that never happened.

Recently, a British daily (1) published a story about an isolated “Christian cult” in New Zealand where a small Christian community live away from city life. Their children wear special uniforms and play in the swimming pool without taking their clothes off. To live in a secluded area in isolation from the rest of the world is always wrong. There is no doubt that those Christians are completely mistaken; their isolation doesn’t do their community, or any community, any good. However, they are completely harmless to others and pose no threat to any one and certainly do not try to impose their eccentric way of life on others. What I found striking in the story is the ease by which the newspaper described the religion of these Christians as a “cult”. For years, I have been waiting for the western media to use this word to describe Islam, but it never happened and I wonder why.

Muslims too tend to live in isolated communities in virtual no go zones to others. They too tend to wear distinctive clothing and stick to a typical Islamic style. Muslim women are known to go to the beaches and bathe while covered with ‘abaya’ from top to toe. It is very common for Muslims, because of Islam, to ban the pleasure of music or the enjoyment of any form of arts.

Even the precarious high risk drugs may not act within months and turn people to monsters capable of committing the most atrocious crimes including rape, pedophilia, torture, killing and committing suicide. Yet many people did it with ease and within months after converting to Islam.

It is the Islamic teachings that make Muslim women so obsessed about their chastity.  Nevertheless, it is also the Islamic teachings that make them turn against their principles and travel to Syria to commit the sickest form of prostitution by giving pleasure to dozens of strangers as  ‘jihad brides’.

People who are affected by Islam can turn violent, and within months, against their own societies and commit mass murders, even in churches and mosques. It is because of Islam that even the highly educated people reject science and turn their back to medicine and seek treatment in animals’ urine.
How do these people who are affected by Islam compare to that “Christian cult” followers, who only want to be left alone?

The fact that we cannot publish any of our articles, or even a comment, in the MSM is an indication that freedom of expression in its proper sense has long disappeared in the West. For years, the Western MSM has been indulged in nurturing a culture of self-hate while covering up the threats posed by Islam to Western civilization. Sadly, the media is not pursuing this risky route alone but accompanied by politicians from most sides of the political spectrum.

Islam affects the minds of its sufferers prompting them to dislike life and seek gratification in death. The rewards of the after-life appear to them to be so tempting to resist. And it is not the peaceful death that appeals to the ‘believers’ but a savage and brutal one; a death that kills and maims as many people as possible. This ‘mind state’ looks to us so unrealistic and so unbelievable, but so do the atrocities being committed by these Muslims. It is all real and we better believe it.

In our time, the tools for indoctrinating the masses on a large scale have become available to the Islamists for the first time in history. Unfortunately, and because of Islam, mankind reached a stage where the age honored logical assumptions, that worked for centuries, doesn’t work anymore. It is normally assumed that when a man shares your food, he would not poison that food and when a man shares your drink, he would not poison that drink. It is normally assumed that airline pilots do their best because if they don’t they too would perish with their passengers. Regrettably, since WW2 the world has become full of nuclear weapons that, so far, have only been used as deterrents. Deterrence works on the assumption of a healthy survival instinct because no one survives in a nuclear conflict.

This assumption may not be true if the enemy has fanatical minds that believe in the afterlife luxuries of Islam. And it doesn’t help to be fooled by the fact that most Muslims are peaceful and nowhere near that ‘fully fledged’ stage of Islam because large numbers of them have already reached that stage and millions more may follow soon.
