Let’s Create a U.S. Memorial Day for Victims of Honor Killings

Let’s Create a U.S. Memorial Day for Victims of Honor Killings

Honor killings and violence are a growing phenomenon in the U.S. but get little attention from politicians and the media.

Jasvinder Sanghera, star of the award-winning Clarion Project film Honor Diaries, is currently on tour meeting NGO's and government officials, trying to raise awareness of this very real problem.

She has launched a petition to raise government and grassroots support for a day of memorial for victims of honor killings.

Honor killings are not the only type of violence faced by huge numbers of Americans – particularly young girls. As many as 200,000 are at risk of female genital mutilation in the United States (Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Thousands will be forced into marriage and more will be tortured and murdered unless we act now.

It takes a minute to sign our petition and raise awareness of this growing and little-recognized problem.

Radical Islam shows its face in many different forms and the subjugation, abuse and murder, on U.S. soil, of women and girls cannot be tolerated.

Please sign this petition now and support Honor Diaries in fighting radical Islam in all its forms.
