Minnesota Men Attempt to Join Islamic State

Minnesota Men Attempt to Join Islamic State

Dear Concerned,

This news report just crossed my desk and I wanted to be sure that you saw it. The FBI just arrested six men in Minnesota who were attempting to travel to Syria to join the Islamic State.

The U.S. Attorney who brought the charges made it very clear that these weren’t just teenagers acting out some form of rebellion.
"We have a terror recruiting problem in Minnesota," the U.S. Attorney in Minnesota, Andrew Luger, said at a press conference Monday.

The complaint says the men sought to reach countries near Syria by flying from the airports in San Diego and New York City through Mexico, but were stopped.

Read the entire story here, and another account here. Incidents like this make it that much more clear that we must do everything we can to educate our friends and neighbors about the threat posted by groups like the Islamic State and al Shabab, and make sure our elected leaders finally face up to the danger that these groups pose, even here in the U.S.

Sincerely,

Brigitte Gabriel
