A controversial British pressure group has been explicitly backed by Islamic State.
The terror group has published a guide for jihadis – including tips on making bombs and committing fraud – which suggests turning to Cage for legal help.

How To Survive In The West advises that jihadis use Cage’s website for tips on dealing with surveillance, raids and interrogations.

Cage were dubbed apologists for extremism after leader Asim Qureshi called Jihadi John a ‘beautiful young man’.

A spokesman was not available for comment.

The organisation stepped into the spotlight after the murderous terrorist's identity was revealed in February.

Qureshi told press conferences the killer - whose real name is Mohammed Emwazi - had been harassed by security services.

A Mail on Sunday investigation also uncovered evidence that appears to place Cage director and former Guantanamo Bay detainee Moazzam Begg at the same Syrian training camp as Emwazi in late 2012.

In March official sources confirmed the existence of a photograph of Mr Begg with a Syrian camp commander, who also appears in a video with a man believed to be Jihadi John, apparently taken at the same camp.
The picture was part of police evidence against Mr Begg in a trial last October at the Old Bailey, when he was charged with attending a terrorist training camp in Syria between October 2012 and April 2013.

The British national was defended by activists
The organisation stepped forward to defend Mohammed Emwazi (above) - otherwise known as Jihadi John - claiming he was harassed by security services before going to Syria

A source, who did not want to be named, said: ‘The picture definitely puts Begg in Syria. There were other individuals in the same photo, and they all looked like militants rather than ordinary people.’

Earlier this week the group celebrated the release of Guantanamo Bay's youngest prisoner and described the West's war on terror as 'genocide'.

'The facts are clear: two million in Iraq and up to four million in the region combined, is genocide.

'The War on Terror is the greatest threat to our humanity on earth. It is crucial that the vast amount of resources required to keep it alive, is rather diverted to truly build nations and combat climate change,' said activist Karen Jayes.
