The Iranians shout their genocidal agenda from the rooftops.

As Secretary of the State John Kerry and President Obama are papering over the Islamic Republic’s recent aggressive, ideological and interventionist activities and while they are defending the nuclear deal and the lifting of the economic sanctions, Iran’s paramount leader -- who has the final say in domestic and foreign policy issues -- is increasingly making his real intentions and inflammatory speeches more public.

In his recent 416-page book titled “Palestine” with a cover featuring a map of what he dreams to be a Palestine (with no Israel), Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei articulates his plan of destroying Israel in detail. On the back cover of the book, the Ayatollah is being characterized as “the flag bearer of Jihad to liberate Jerusalem.”

The timing of publishing such an inflammatory, destructive and inhumane book is intriguing. First of all, the Supreme Leader feels more empowered by the signing of the nuclear deal. He views the deal as the West's desperation and weakness to ally with his regime. He sees no pressure on the Islamic Republic as his Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Basij, Qud Force, and moral police, are increasing domestic repression and invading several countries in the region. He feels strengthened and legitimized seeing the West, and particularly President Obama, coming to bow to the ruling clerics and turning a blind eye to Iran’s activities in Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon, and its support of Hezbollah.

Moreover, the Supreme Leader is attempting to send a powerful message to the Iranian people as well as to his core social base. The Iranian people, a majority of whom oppose the Iranian government's domestic and foreign policies, were celebrating the nuclear deal hoping for rapprochement and a better relationships with the West.  But the Supreme Leader’s position is a no. He is trying to tell the young population that their dreams are void. He is attempting to send a message that his government will continue with its policies of anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism.

Ayatollah Khamenei, the second-longest ruler and dictator of the Middle East, explains that Israel should be wiped off the map because Israel is an infidel country, an ally of the “Great Satan” the United States of America, and it “occupies” the third holiest city in the world, Jerusalem. Khamenei’s views are typical radical Islamist ones, which resemble the views and ideologies of many other radical Islamist groups such as the Islamic State.

In addition, the Supreme Leader continues bragging about his role in the war against Israel and how he has helped Hezbollah score victories such as in the 33-day war or supported Hamas in the 22-day war against Israel. The Ayatollah also brags about how he has made life difficult for Israelis. Khamenei also does not even call for a two-state solution. His plan is a one-state solution, and that state will only be Palestine.

While he calls Israel “a cancerous tumor” which should be eliminated so that “the West’s hegemony and threats will be discredited,” he is also delighted that “the hegemony of Iran will be promoted.”
Right after the nuclear deal, the Ayatollah felt the urge to again totally deny the Holocaust. He describes it as a  “propaganda ploy.”

With a 416-page book and a detailed plan to wipe out Israel and destroy the United States, why on earth should Congress approve the nuclear deal and the lifting of economic sanctions which will lead to the flow of billions of dollars to the pockets of Khamenei and the ruling Iranian clerics?

Considering the Ayatollah’s clear-cut Islamist and radical views, should anyone realistically believe that he is going to use the billions of dollars for humanitarian and peaceful purposes? Should any rational person think that this regime is not trying to acquire nuclear weapons to achieve its hegemonic and ideological ambitions?

More fundamentally, as the Ayatollah has recently more vocally announced his vicious plans and ideology to the world, President Obama and his administration continue to ignore these serious threats. It is as if they are living in another world.

Should we really work hard to assist such a regime that calls for the destruction of other states and propagates anti-humane sentiments?
