UANI Ad Highlights Iran's Record of Violating International Agreements
Newest Ad in Series Launches Amid Growing Public Opposition to Nuclear Deal

New York, NY - United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) today unveiled its newest ad entitled "Leopard." The ad is part of UANI's multifaceted, multi-million-dollar national campaign to educate Americans about the fundamental flaws of the Iran nuclear agreement, which Congress is scheduled to vote on in September. Leopard follows previous UANI ads including "Don't Settle," "Leave No Man Behind," and "Trust."

The ad states that the Iranian regime, a serial violator of its international obligations, cannot be trusted to uphold its commitments in the nuclear deal. Tehran has violated international agreements "at least 20 times," including by building a secret uranium enrichment site deep inside a mountain. Iran's record of cheating, coupled with a weak inspections regime that gives Iran up to 24 days to stall inspections of suspected nuclear facilities, are key reasons why America needs a better deal.

"We may wish that Iran change its behavior, but trusting this radical regime to do so is a very dangerous and risky proposition," said UANI CEO Mark D. Wallace, a former U.S. ambassador to the U.N., and UANI Chairman Joseph I. Lieberman, former U.S. senator from Connecticut. "Unfortunately, Iran has given the world ample evidence of its contempt for international law and agreements, which it has repeatedly violated. Its attempt to hide a secret uranium enrichment facility deep inside a fortified mountain bunker while insisting publicly that its vast nuclear infrastructure is for civilian power shows that Tehran can't be trusted and makes the deal's verification measures all the more critical. But on verification and other fundamentals, this agreement falls far short and the American people know it-and they demand and deserve a better deal."

On August 10, UANI resumed its national education campaign on the Iran nuclear deal with an ad entitled "Leave No Man Behind." The ad highlights the fact that the deal ignores the fate of four U.S. hostages that continue to be held under inhumane conditions in Iran. On August 17, UANI launched its second ad, "Trust." Like "Leopard," "Trust" focused on Iran's record of cheating on its international obligations and the deal's failure to ensure verification of Iran's nuclear activities. "Trust" will be 'airing in national markets alongside "Leopard."

UANI is a non-profit, non-partisan education and advocacy group founded in 2008 to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. An outspoken and tireless advocate for implementation of a robust sanctions regime against Iran, UANI has been in the vanguard of efforts to ensure that any U.S. agreement with Iran is solidly in the national security interests of the United States and precludes Tehran's efforts to develop nuclear weapons.
