UK jihad preacher Anjem Choudary charged with “inviting support” for Islamic State

Anjem-Choudary

Anjem Choudary has been preaching jihad openly for years, while the British authorities have been too busy hounding counter-jihadists (and banning foreign ones from the country) to do anything about it. They’re arresting him now? Has the heat gotten too much for David Cameron and Theresa May over their disgracefully supine response to Islamic jihad terror? In any case, it is likely that Anjem will be out and about, and up to his usual mischief, in the blink of an eye.

Watch last week’s Glazov Gang with Choudary, Zuhdi Jasser and me here.
“Anjem Choudary faces UK terrorism charges over Islamic State,” BBC, August 5, 2015:
Radical UK preacher Anjem Choudary is one of two men who has been charged with inviting support for Islamic State militants, Scotland Yard says.
He is accused of “inviting support” for so-called Islamic State (IS) between 29 June 2014 and 6 March this year.
He and another man, Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, have each been charged with one offence under section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000….
Mr Choudary, 48, of Ilford in east London, and Mohammed Rahman, 32, of Whitechapel in east London, were arrested on 25 September last year on suspicion of being members of IS, which is a proscribed organisation….
