Lone wolf ISIS attacks are a 'smoke screen for HUGE atrocities planned across Europe'


ABHORRENT Islamic State fighters have been ordered to wreak havoc across Europe with "lone wolf" attacks to distract security forces while larger attacks are planed, a judge has warned.

Marc Trevidic, France's former chief counter-terrorism judge, said the attacks have made European security forces wary of an imminent threat.

He said: "It served to put all of our agencies on edge.

"Just like a smoke screen, it allowed them to calmly prepare."

Since storming through large parts of Syria and Iraq in 2014, ISIS has been recruiting and training European jihadis before sending them home.

Former head of the US Defence Intelligence Agency Michael Flynn also warned recent European attacks have been years in the making.

He said: "This didn’t all of a sudden pop up in the last six months.

"They have been contemplating external attacks ever since the group moved into Syria in 2012."
However, not all attacks carried out in the name of the twisted militant group were planned by the ISIS hierarchy.
