SHOCK CLAIM: Leaks show Turkish government is 'turning a blind eye to ISIS operations'
LEAKED phone recordings shockingly appear to show more than a thousand Islamic State militants crossed the border into Turkey from Syria last year - with the knowledge of security forces.
They detail conversations between known ISIS terrorist Ilhami Bali and several associates inside Turkey, as they discuss the exact number of people they have smuggled into the country.
In one angry exchange, Bali - who is suspected of orchestrating several terrorists attacks in Turkey - threatens to shoot his contact in the head, after one attempt to smuggle 18 militants over the border ended with 15 of them being arrested.
Erdem, a member of the Republican People's Party and an outspoken critic of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said the leaked documents were "dirty proof" the government was turning a blind eye to ISIS operations inside the country.
“Despite the fact that all this information was in the hands of the authorities, the security forces had not carried out any operations to detain terrorists.
"I ask one very simple question: why were these terrorists not arrested?”
